Als Aldo weer gaat vechten zal dit alleen om het geld zijn

Jose Aldo en de UFC leven nog steeds op gespannen voet. Nadat Aldo te horen kreeg dat hij “nog” geen rematch met Conor McGregor kreeg was zijn eerste reactie dat hij weg wilde bij de UFC. Het is dan nog alles behalve zeker dat Aldo nog voor de UFC uit gaat komen. Volgende week staat er een gesprek gepland met UFC president Dana White.

Jose Aldo heeft in ieder geval bekend gemaakt dat als hij nog uit gaat komen voor de UFC de titel niet meer zijn prioriteit heeft. Aldo zegt hierover:

“If I continue in the sport, I make it clear that I want to see money. That’s what it’s about. You can’t be a correct fighter. The right is wrong today. You don’t have to be the good guy and do what they want, that’s considered wrong today. Today, we think the way we have to think,” added Aldo. “Everybody who knows me knows that I wanted to create a legacy and not fight for money. Everybody fights for money, of course, but I wanted to leave a legacy when I retired, get my name in the history. I don’t think like that anymore. When I lost the belt, I saw how reality is. Champion means nothing.”
