Potentiële USADA overtreding door UFC Heavyweight Ruslan Magomedov

De UFC heeft afgelopen week naar buiten gebracht dat UFC Heavyweight vechter Ruslan Magomedov​ betrapt is op een potentiële Anti Doping Policy overtreding. Volgens de USADA is er een out-of-competition test gedaan op 7 september 2016.

Ruslan die het op zou nemen tegen Stefan Struve​ op UFC​ 204 in Manchester, was eerder genoodzaakt om zijn gevecht te cancelen in verband met een infectie.

Magomedov heeft sinds oktober 2015 niet meer gevochten. Zijn laatste gevecht was tegen Shawn ‘The Savage’ Jordan​ die hij via een Unanimous Decision had gewonnen

Het officiële statement van the UFC luidt als volgt:

“The UFC organization was notified that the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has informed Ruslan Magomedov of a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation stemming from an out-of-competition sample collection made on September 7, 2016.

USADA, the independent administrator of the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, will handle the results management and appropriate adjudication of this case. It is important to note that, under the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, there is a full and fair review process that is afforded to all athletes before any sanctions are imposed. Additional information will be provided at the appropriate time as the process moves forward.”
