Las Vegas werkt aan nieuw stadion voor MMA en boksevenementen

De bouw van het nieuwe stadion in Las Vegas Nevada is in volle gang. Ze verwachten de 1.8 miljard kostende lokatie in augustus 2020 te openen. Naast evenementen van de NFL-Raiders en UNLV Rebels moeten er ook vechtsportevenementen in de arena komen. Er zullen 65.000 zitplaatsen zijn. Dit is meer dan het dubbele van de T-Mobile Arena.

De Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) chief operations officer, Lawrence Epstein spreekt lovend over de nieuwe lokatie: “There have been events at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas – big boxing events there. There’s no reason why those events wouldn’t have come to Las Vegas. I think combat sports is going to have a home in this facility. The stadium events are going to be special events. They’re going to be that event that warrants this huge crowd and the ability to sell tickets associated with 65,000-seat stadiums.”

De T-Mobile Arena zal niet ongebruikt blijven: “We’re still going to be the vast majority of our events at the T-Mobile Arena. We love the facility. The management team is incredible. We do events around the world, and I think it’s the best arena in the world,”

Voor de bekende: Het hotel komt tegenover Mandalay Bay nabij Luxor Hotel & Casino aan Road 15 ter hoogte van de W Hacienda Ave.
